SmartTasker is unlike other task apps – we’ve decided to do things differently, so you have more choice, cheaper fees and can post bigger tasks.
Unlike other Australian task apps who have high fees, we have designed things differently to ensure both our Customer and Tasker fees are always lower, making it cheaper to get tasks done, and allowing Taskers to keep more of what they earn.
We also allow you to post jobs of any size, not just tasks under $10k, so if you need that new kitchen reno done, your landscaping project tackled or an app developed, you can find a Tasker for the job – plus you can get those small jobs done too.
For larger tasks, SmartTasker also allows you to setup milestone payments – something which no other platform offers – this allows you to pay step by step as your task progresses, giving you peace of mind and reducing the need to pay a big amount upfront.
All task booking fees and Tasker service fees are lower than other task apps in Australia. We also like to be completely transparent about our fees and not hide them in the fine print like other platforms do.
Our Task Booking Fees are just 10% + GST of the task value up to a maximum of $25 + GST. This is paid by the person posting the job when they select and book their Tasker of choice.
Our 4 tiers of Tasker Service Fees are as follows. These are deducted from the task total before payout to the Tasker:
TaskStarter – Has completed less than $799 worth of jobs in the last 30 days = 15% service fee + GST
TaskPro – Has completed between $800-$2499 worth of jobs in the last 30 days = 13% service fee + GST
TaskExpert – Has completed between $2500-$4999 worth of jobs in the last 30 days = 11% service fee + GST
TaskMaster – Has completed more than $5000 worth of jobs in the last 30 days = 9% service fee + GST

SmartTasker makes it easy to get paid. Customers have to pay up-front before a task can start. We hold those funds securely in Escrow and when you have completed the task or milestone you simply request the customer to release the payment. It’s then deposited into your bank account less any fees. If the customer doesn’t release the payment after 14 days, we automatically release the payout into your bank account.

Unlike other task apps SmartTasker, doesn’t cap the size of your jobs to $10k. Instead SmartTasker gives you complete freedom to get all tasks completed, from large house renos, to smaller assembly jobs, and everything in between, we have the platform to handle them all!
Yes! Its totally free to post any task on SmartTasker. As a poster your only pay for your task + booking fee once you have selected your Tasker and opted to commence task fulfilment. Its totally free to post your job, get offers and ask questions of prospective Taskers.
Payments are secure and easy with SmartTasker. Once you have selected your tasker and their offer, you will be prompted to pay for your task. We use Stripe to make our payments safe and secure. Your payment will then be held in escrow until you are satisfied with task completion. You then release payment to your Tasker.
You can cancel or update your task at anytime.
If you want further added payment security, SmartTasker also allows you to create task milestones. So rather than paying for the whole task up front you can pay milestone by milestone based on work completed. This provides peace of mind for both yourself and your Tasker.
